Cajun Wedges

Potatoes and chocolate are the best friends of any British. So you will usually find potatoes as a side on any meal table of a Brit, be it in different forms like these wedges. Inspired by Louisiana style food, I make these wedges at home to satisfy my cravings, and they don’t actually take long to make at all! The best thing is you can pop them in the oven and get other work done.

Cajun spice was not so popular when I was younger. In fact I don’t think I’d ever heard of it nor tasted it until my twenties! Now however, it’s so popular I see it in many shops, as well as Cajun burgers, wraps etc at fast food joints.

The Cajun wedges are so versatile you can serve them with wraps. burgers, salads or as a side to any baked protein or steak. A lovely side to any meal, these wedges will be adding character to your table in comparison to the simple and humble chips.

You may think its a long process to make wedges at home, but that’s far from the truth. These spuds don’t even need peeling! Once you start making them yourself at home, trust me you will be hooked! Nothing shop brought will taste the same again. Not to mention the pennies you will save (lookout for bags of potatoes on sale/clearance and stock up!)

Below is the step by step recipe on how to make these delicious yet easy peasy wedges.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tsp cajun spice
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
